Clémence Humeau

Head of RI Coordination and Governance

Clémence Humeau is Head of Sustainability Coordination and Governance at AXA IM. 

In this role, she is responsible for leading the roadmap for integrating ESG criteria across the organization. Her responsibilities encompass defining and executing ESG strategies, ensuring their coherence and efficiency across all business units, and embedding them into investment processes and strategic decision-making. She plays a crucial role in monitoring regulatory developments and international sustainable finance initiatives, ensuring AXA IM remains at the forefront of industry standards and compliance requirements. 

A key part of Clémence’s role is steering the efficient delivery of AXA IM’s ESG priorities. She is actively involved in defining the sustainability strategy by monitoring the ESG competitive landscape, anticipating future trends in responsible investment, and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to shape AXA IM’s responses to emerging challenges.  

In 2023, Clémence was appointed as an expert on the European Commission Platform on Sustainable Finance for a two-year term (Q1 2023 – Q4 2024). She serves as co-rapporteur of the Sub-Group on Usability and Data and leads the Insurers Stakeholder Group within that sub-group. 

Clémence also plays a pivotal role in AXA IM’s stewardship activities, overseeing them from both a strategic and governance perspective. She manages the Corporate Governance & Stewardship Team, which is responsible for voting activities, corporate governance research, and stewardship strategy.. 

Clémence joined AXA IM in 2012 as a strategic auditor, where she worked on assessing and optimizing internal processes. She quickly advanced to Business Manager of the CEO Office in 2013, a role that provided her with a broad understanding of AXA IM’s strategic and financial challenges. In 2018, she took on the role of Responsible Investment Coordinator, where she played a crucial role in defining and executing the company’s ESG roadmap and shaping its sustainable investment policies. 

Clémence holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Territorial Strategies from Sciences Po Paris. Her expertise, strategic vision, and leadership in sustainability and responsible investment continue to drive AXA IM’s efforts in shaping the future of sustainable finance.
