Pietro Martorella and André Thali are appointed Co-Heads of Client Group for AXA IM Core

AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) today announces the appointment of Pietro Martorella and André Thali as Co-Heads of Client Group for AXA IM Core1 .
Effective July 1, they will both report to Hans Stoter, Global Head of AXA IM Core, and have the joint responsibility to serve clients and drive growth for AXA IM Core.
- Pietro Martorella will lead Western Europe, Southern Europe, Americas and Marketing in addition to his current responsibilities as Head of Core Client Group Southern Europe team.
- André Thali will lead Northern Europe, DACH (Germany, Austria & Switzerland), Asia, Japan, ETF and Product Strategy in addition to his current responsibilities as Head of Core Client Group DACH.
Matt Lovatt, currently Global Head of Client Group for AXA IM Core, will retire on July 1, 2023.

Biographies
Pietro Martorella
Pietro Martorella is Head of Core Client Group Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal) at AXA IM since 2021.
Pietro joined AXA IM in 2004 as Head of Retail & Wholesale distribution and then became Managing Director of the Italian branch in 2009.
Previously, he held various roles in the commercial and fund distribution area in BNP Paribas AM where he started his career in 1999 and was then also in charge of the commercial development of alternative products in Italy and the development of the Greece-Malta-Cyprus area from 2002.
Pietro graduated in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Milan.
André Thali
André Thali is Head of Core Client Group DACH (Germany, Austria & Switzerland) at AXA IM since 2017, as well as Deputy CEO of AXA IM Switzerland. He was previously Head of Client Group Switzerland and Liechtenstein from 2013 to 2017.
Prior to joining AXA IM in 2007, André was Head of Sales Europe for the fund management company Swisscanto since 2001, responsible for third-party distribution.
Between 1996 and 2001, he worked for Sarasin International Securities Limited in London as a Sales-Trader.
André graduated from the KV in Luzern and is a qualified Trader.
