AXA IM to relocate London offices to flagship development project – Twentytwo

AXA Investment Managers can today announce that it intends to relocate its two London office locations (7 Newgate Street and 155 Bishopsgate) to Twentytwo, the innovative new London workplace development at 22 Bishopsgate. The move is expected to take place in H1 2020.

Andrea Rossi, CEO, AXA Investment Managers said:

“This is an exciting move for our staff in London, a vital investment centre for AXA IM clients globally. The move will bring together our London-based teams under one roof and this will enable us to improve and update the technology that supports our employees as well to live and breathe our Responsible Investing philosophy given the sustainable credentials of the building.

“This is ultimately for the benefit of our clients and very much in line with our plans announced in June to evolve and simplify our organisation. This relocation will support us in our move towards more flexible working practices that are aligned with reducing our environmental impact and maximising the space we occupy.”

Currently under construction, the core of the building is already complete having reached level 62, and with steel flooring and glazing reaching the 56th and 45th floors, respectively. Twentytwo is on schedule to be finished in late 2019.

About Twentytwo

Twentytwo is a people-focused workplace destination, which will be Europe’s first ‘vertical village’.  It is expected to accommodate a community of up to 12,000 occupiers and visitors. It has been designed to put user experience and human interaction at the centre of its offer and will be the first major London building to embody the structural and cultural shifts in how people work and live, embracing a range of community amenities.

It will be built and managed to the highest technology and sustainability standards, in order to support the varying needs of businesses today and in the future and is the first building in the UK to apply for the Delos WELL Building Standard.

Twentytwo’s central themes of wellbeing and community aim to allow tenants to benefit from the direct correlation between happiness at work and quality of workplace, increasing an individual’s productivity and creativity. To help achieve this, Twentytwo will house a diverse range of community spaces covering over 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sqm) and providing its occupants with access to a fresh food market, innovation hub, gym with London’s first climbing window 125 metres from the ground, wellbeing retreat and spa, business club, bike park, as well as the capital’s highest free public viewing gallery, with art interventions throughout.

Andrea Rossi added:

“We are already looking forward to welcoming our clients to this new building, but believe that the benefits for employees, both existing and future, speak for themselves. The working environment contributes significantly to employee engagement and performance and is something we take very seriously. Staff and clients will be able to take advantage of the very latest innovations in terms of office space organisation allowing us to embrace new working practices, as well as recognising the importance of emotional and physical well-being.”
